First things first—yes, it's free to shoot inside the Library of Congress (yay!), but you'll need to snag a timed-entry ticket ahead of time to get in. These tickets go fast—especially on weekends—so be sure to plan ahead. We went on a busy Saturday in March, and even with the crowds, this location gave us all the grandeur and intimacy we could’ve hoped for.

This couple had a clear vision: editorial with a touch of classic romance, but they didn’t want to be surrounded by art exhibits or feel like they were in a traditional museum. The Library of Congress was the perfect middle ground. The marble staircases, golden ceilings, and stunning arches were the ultimate backdrop for their chic love story.

They kicked off the session in coordinated all-black formal outfits—so sleek and effortlessly cool. Think high-fashion vibes with a hint of old-world drama. Then, halfway through, the bride-to-be changed into a beautiful white dress that flowed like a dream as she walked the grand halls. The contrast between her white gown and the deep tones of the library made for some seriously cinematic shots.

Even with the hustle and bustle of weekend visitors, we carved out little pockets of calm where their connection took center stage. I guided them through poses and prompts that helped them feel natural, playful, and totally themselves—which is always my favorite kind of energy to capture.
